Hospitality promotes from within more than almost any other sector. Employers train people from scratch, and a Level 2 or 3 apprenticeship is the standard route to supervisor and management roles. Shift work also makes it one of the more flexible sectors to start in.

Do I need catering experience to start?
No. Most hospitality apprenticeships are designed for complete beginners — employers train you on the job.
What hours will I work?
Hospitality often involves evenings and weekends, which many people find fits around other commitments. Your contract will set out your hours.
Where can a hospitality apprenticeship lead?
Supervisor, then management. Many head chefs and general managers started as apprentices, and the skills transfer internationally.
