Transport for London
Our city. Made better by you.
About Us
The clue is in the name. We work together for a better London. A better place for everyone. Constantly improving and enhancing how we operate and shaping the future of our city.
Connecting people, communities, places and opportunities, TfL is a great place to work. A place where diverse talent can thrive, and everyone is proud to play their part in a greener, more vibrant city. Millions of people rely on our networks for business, leisure and everyday life. But we do much more than simply getting people from A to B. And we do more than tubes and trains.
We’re responsible for the roads and bridges that weave across the city. For the buildings, developments and infrastructure that inhabit the streets. For the world-leading tech solutions and the innovative people management too. When we say we take care of everything we mean it. It’s these areas, the ones operating behind the scenes, that help keep London moving. Here you can thrive, belong and be yourself in a place that cares about our colleagues, our customers and our work.
TfL is a place that's open to your ideas. Where you can make a tangible impact and see the positive results of your work on the people and places around you. It's a place where you can thrive and achieve. Where you're encouraged, enabled and empowered to feel pride in the work you do.
Our vision and values define our ambitions for a sustainable, green future and a more inclusive, dynamic and democratic place to work.

Career stories

""Whilst on the scheme, I chaired a Committee for current Graduates and Apprentices, giving me the chance to be the voice of my community too, whilst building my network along the way. I got the fantastic opportunity to undertake placements across the business, from the Northern Line Extension to the Neasden Depot Modernisation to my current business area of Technology and Data. I have recently rolled off my apprenticeship scheme and taken up my permanent role with TfL. I now Chair the Alumni of Graduates and Apprentices, working across all levels of the business to promote and support career development, whilst working as an Associate Project Manager, upgrading the radio base units that are used by TfL staff.""

""My key achievement on my scheme so far has been getting involved in the diversity and inclusion initiatives within TfL. As a female engineer it’s important to me to be involved in creating a working environment where everyone feels included and valued. I have been a mentor to members of the senior leadership team and I have participated in focus groups that have helped to shape new government policy documents.""

""I was an assistant sponsor on a new type of crossing scheme called Green Man Authority (GMA); this crossing prioritised pedestrians crossing the road and would detect cars using sensors placed down the road to begin the changing of phase so the pedestrians would stop crossing. The project began trials and was very successful in the results. It won a London Transport Award for the most innovative transport.""
