Early Careers

As an apprentice at AWE, individuals gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge facilities while learning from some of the brightest minds in the industry. Whether their interests lie in problem-solving, project planning, or precision engineering, there is a pathway available, from Level 3 (Advanced) to Level 6 (Degree) apprenticeships. From day one, apprentices are part of something bigger. They are encouraged to bring their ideas, share their vision, and contribute to a mission that keeps the nation safe and secure. Many of the apprenticeship programmes operate on a rolling recruitment basis, which means applications close once sufficient candidates have been selected. Applying early therefore increases the chances of securing a place.

Applicants must be British citizens and able to obtain the necessary security clearance. As part of this process, consideration will also be given to whether applicants have lived outside the UK within the past ten years.
