If you’re interested in investment banking and the higher end of the banking spectrum, it will be better for you to look for a more generic apprenticeship within a banking giant. Currently, investment banks aren’t offering apprenticeships, but we’ll let you know if we find some that do! You’ll get great experience & make connections that could be your opportunity to earn mega money ££££.

If you want a more senior role in a bank such as bank manager, relationship management or something in corporate banking, and apprenticeship could get you there! It gives you the skills to go into that level after your apprenticeship rather than into bank cashier roles. You’ll get to learn about customer services, teamwork, financial instruments and advising customers and clients. This can be really interesting as your clients could be looking for anything from pensions to insurance or long-term investments. Giving you the right step on the banking ladder.

What skills & qualifications do I need?

Currently, banking apprenticeships are only offered at a higher level. This means that you need to have GCSEs, an advanced apprenticeship or enough relevant experience for the role that you’re applying for.

You should be conscientious, friendly, personable but want to hit your targets if you want to work in banking.
