Key Responsibilities
Client Accounting and Delivery
Process purchase and sales ledger transactions and maintain accurate accounting records
Perform bank and other basic reconciliations under supervision
Assist with month-end processes and the preparation of monthly management accounts
Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and supporting schedules
Prepare and organise supporting documentation and working papers as required
Liaise with clients to obtain missing information and resolve routine queries, seeking
guidance where needed
Complete assigned work within agreed deadlines and in accordance with the firm’s
procedures and quality standards.
Management Reporting
Assist with the preparation of client management reporting packs
Support the preparation of information and schedules required for monthly reporting
Check financial information for accuracy and completeness before passing work for review
Develop an understanding of how management accounts and reports are used by clients to
understand the performance of their businesses
Support to Team
Work closely with more experienced team members and seek guidance where required
Respond constructively to review points and feedback and apply learning to future work
Keep relevant team members informed of the progress of assigned work and raise delays,
missing information or other issues promptly

Experience
• Previous accounting or office experience is not required
• Any previous work experience, part-time employment, work placement or experience involving responsibility and teamwork would be beneficial
• An interest in accounting, finance and working with technology
Skills
• Good numerical skills and an aptitude for working accurately with financial information
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good general IT skills and willingness to learn Xero, Excel and other cloud-based systems
• Ability to follow instructions and established processes carefully
• Ability to organise assigned work and work towards agreed deadlines
• Willingness to ask questions and seek guidance when unsure
Qualifications required
Two A Levels (Grades A-E)
Three GCSEs (or equivalent) (grades 9-4 / A-C) (in five separate subjects including maths and English).
