ACCA Accountant Apprentice

What you'll do
You'll own the transactional day, so the numbers our leadership team relies on start out right.
Run the purchase ledger: process and code supplier invoices in Xero, reconcile supplier statements, answer supplier queries and prepare payment runs for approval.
Raise and chase sales invoices: raise client invoices, submit them through client portals and follow up overdue invoices, including calls to clients' accounts teams.
Reconcile the bank: match bank and card transactions every day and prepare the month-end reconciliations.
Check expenses: review, code and post expense claims in Webexpenses.
Help close the month: prepare reconciliations and schedules for review, and file the evidence our auditors will ask for.
Keep the cash forecast current: update our 13-week cash forecast with actual figures every week.
Use AI well: use Claude in your daily work, and check what it gives you. In finance, an unchecked number isn't finished.
What you'll bring
Care with numbers and a drive to learn matter more to us than years of experience. If you meet most of this, apply.
Accuracy: you notice when a number doesn't tie, and you find out why.
Spreadsheets: you're comfortable in Excel, including lookups, filters and simple formulas.
Confidence: you're happy to call a client's accounts team about an overdue invoice.
Study: you're studying for ACCA, or keen to start.
Behaviours: clear, honest communication, and the willingness to ask for help and act on feedback
