Are you passionate about hair, beauty and working with people? We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and committed Hairdressing Apprentice to join our professional salon team and begin an exciting career in the hairdressing industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn, develop their practical skills and gain valuable experience in a busy salon environment. You will work alongside experienced hairdressers, supporting the team while completing your apprenticeship training and working towards a recognised hairdressing qualification.

As part of the role, you will learn how to welcome and look after clients, shampoo and condition hair, assist with blow-dries and styling, prepare clients for colouring and highlighting services, maintain a clean and organised salon, and gradually develop your technical hairdressing skills. As your confidence and experience grow, you will have opportunities to take on more responsibility and develop skills in cutting, colouring and styling.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, well-presented and enthusiastic, with a genuine interest in building a career in hairdressing. You should enjoy working as part of a team, have a positive attitude and be willing to listen, learn and take guidance from experienced members of staff.

No previous salon experience is required—the most important qualities are enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications required

Qualifications

No previous hairdressing experience is required.

A genuine interest in hairdressing and the beauty industry.

Good communication and customer-service skills.

Willingness to learn and develop practical salon skills.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.

Good personal presentation.

Commitment to completing the apprenticeship training and qualification.

Basic English and maths skills are desirable.

GCSEs or equivalent qualifications are desirable but not essential, depending on the apprenticeship provider's entry requirements.

Training you'll get

As a Hairdressing Apprentice, you will receive a combination of hands-on salon training and structured off-the-job learning. You will work alongside experienced stylists and gradually develop the practical skills and confidence required to become a qualified hairdresser.

Your training will include:

Shampooing, conditioning and scalp care

Blow-drying and styling techniques

Assisting with colouring, highlighting and other salon services

Introduction to hair cutting techniques

Hair consultations and understanding client requirements

Professional use of salon tools and equipment

Product knowledge and recommending suitable products

Salon hygiene, health and safety

Customer service and client care

Preparing and maintaining the salon

Working effectively as part of a professional salon team

Developing professional communication skills

Building confidence and progressing towards independent client services

You will also complete the required apprenticeship qualification and training with an approved training provider, with regular support and feedback throughout your apprenticeship.

As your skills develop, you will be given increasing responsibility and opportunities to practise your techniques in a supervised salon environment.
