As a Service Technician/Mechanic apprentice, you work in the SEAT Huddersfield service department to deliver right-first-time fixes and excellent customer service.

  • You use diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults, test parts and systems, and follow checklists to examine critical components.

  • You carry out bumper-to-bumper service and inspections, maintain electronic systems (including on-board entertainment), and repair or maintain vehicle parts such as clutches, gearboxes, tyres, brakes and suspension.
  • You complete legible and accurate paperwork for customers and centre records and keep your work environment clean and tidy.
  • You work with a wide range of products including traditional, hybrid and electronic engines, gaining varied technical training from heritage vehicles to modern technology.

The programme lasts three years and provides a long-term career with excellent earning and progression opportunities upon completion.

Qualifications required

GCSE 9–4 (A–C) in English, Maths and Science. In Scotland, Scottish National 5 Grades A–C in English, Maths and either a Science or Technical subject. Equivalents include BTEC first diplomas/certificates, OCR Nationals, Key Skills Level 2, NVQs, Essential Skills (Wales), Core Skills (Scotland). Predicted grades considered; conditional offers may be made based on predicted grades.

Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician apprenticeship; hands-on training across traditional, hybrid and electronic engines; three-year programme; on-the-job training.
