The Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Assistant Project Manager to join our Consulting Energy Transition & Sustainability (ET&S) project management team.

As the Assistant Project Manager, you will be part of a wider (ET&S) Project Management team. You will be providing effective support and assistance to the Built Environment practice in the production and maintenance of technically sound project management deliverables, for a wide range of clients. Responsibilities include:

  • To work in a team, assisting in the production and maintenance of technically sound project management solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements
  • Assist with the delivery of weekly project management reports associated with financial, resource or time related reporting.
  • Support and develop programmes (resource and cost associated)
  • Support with projects cost/ fee governance assurance - but will have no responsibility for the financial performance of the project
  • Be part of the internal team across the wider ET&S Project Management team, supporting a variety of projects
  • The individual will form a relationship with representatives of the professional institution to which they have become aligned and ensure development of self-career
  • General office duties associated with the smooth running of a consulting engineering business

What you will bring to us:

  • Associate member of the Association for Project Management
  • Association for Project Management Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) or equivalent
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject
  • Understanding of project management theory and principles, gained through practical application with developing ability to apply in practice.
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management and specification processes
  • Awareness of commercial issues
  • Basic understanding of Health, Safety and Welfare, including specific regulations
  • Ability to produce reports to a good standard
  • Basic understanding of the different interfaces on projects
  • Supervisory and people management skills. Moving towards being capable of supervising more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks
