Placement Student

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Civil Engineer Summer Intern to join our NMC NE team within Amey's Transport Infrastructure Business Unit, based in Perth.

Salary: £12.71 per hour (Subject to review)

Location: Caledonian House, West Kinfauns, Perth. PH2 7XZ

Working hours per week: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, 40 hours per week.

Start date: July 2027

What you will do:

• Ensure accurate and effective collation of data.
• Carry out inspections in accordance with the Well-Maintained Highways Code of General Practice.
• Ensure contract compliance on data quality management issues.
• Comply with the relevant health and safety legislation.
• Communicate with the third-party claims team to provide evidence in defence of claims.
• Assist with the establishment and implementation of a programme of inspections and investigations.
• Assist with project administration as required.
• Record time accurately in project control systems.
• Liaise with the OCR and staff to ensure planning, operations and works are completed on time.
• Assist with the preparation of reports and documents as necessary.
• Provide accurate advice to relevant parties on procedures.

What you will bring:

• Currently studying for a degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Full UK driving licence or working towards obtaining one.

Skills:

• Computer literate and thoroughly conversant with MS office suite.
• Has the appropriate technical skills and ability to successfully work within technical teams with high levels of quality.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CAD.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to work successfully within a team and engage in internal and external discussions with clients and other stakeholders.
