Ready to be at the heart of a brand-new automated distribution operation? Do you enjoy using systems, data and technology to keep a fast-paced warehouse operation running smoothly? Can you stay calm under pressure, prioritise multiple tasks and make quick decisions that keep operations moving? If yes, read on.

Exciting things are happening at GXO! We're delighted to announce the expansion of our Fashion & Apparel operations with the launch of our newest distribution site in Burnley (BB10).

Following significant investment, this site is being brought back to life and will become a key part of our growing UK network. We're now looking for Control Room Administrators to join our team and help build a high-performing operation from the ground up.

Operating from the heart of the site, you'll play a critical role in coordinating workflow, supporting warehouse automation and ensuring operational priorities are delivered. Combining elements of wave planning, work release and automation monitoring, you'll work closely with operational leaders, engineers and colleagues across the site to maintain service levels, maximise efficiency and quickly resolve issues before they impact performance.

These are full time, permanent positions working on a 4 on and 4 off shift pattern for 42 hours per week on either fixed days or fixed nights.

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £32,000.00 per annum, and 23.5 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, private medical & dental insurance, a 24/7 online GP service, life assurance and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programme. You’ll also have access to our MyBenefits platform offering a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, cashback cards, a saving scheme and much more!

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Coordinate and release work through warehouse systems to ensure operational priorities and customer deadlines are achieved
  • Monitor workflow across the operation, proactively identifying bottlenecks and imbalances before they affect performance
  • Monitor automation, conveyors, sortation equipment and control systems, escalating issues to engineering teams when required
  • Maintain strong communication with operational leaders, engineers and support functions throughout the shift
  • Complete system reporting, shift handovers and issue logs to ensure seamless continuity between teams

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics, transport, planning or control room environment
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using warehouse management systems and operational software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail
  • Great communication skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the operation
