Opportunity Details

You will actively be involved in all aspects of childcare including the following:

  • Bottle feeding
  • Nappy changing
  • Playing with children
  • Feeding
  • Activity planning
  • General care for children from the age of 6 months to 5 years

The working week is between Monday-Friday, Shifts TBC.

Skills Required

  • Must be smart and presentable
  • Good timekeeping skills
  • Good communication skills

Qualifications Required

  • No formal requirements but must have basic literacy and numeracy skills

Training

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Sure Steps Day Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification
  • Functional skills in Maths and English if required

This will be delivered through Sure Steps Day Nursery's dedicated training provider, Realise.

Realise is an established training provider that’s enjoying an exciting period of growth following a management buyout and rebrand in late 2020.

Prospects

  • Can progress onto the Level 3 Early Years Educator standard and become a fully qualified nursery nurse

  • Will be active for most of the day
  • DBS required
