Isaac Hall Equestrian - Equine Groom Apprentice

Isaac Hall and his team at Wayside Lodge are looking for a new equine apprentice to join them, Isaac runs a 20 indoor box yard with mainly show jumpers , a few liveries and he also breeds around 5 foals a year there. He is looking for an enthusiastic young person with good basic equine experience who is keen to develop their equine knowledge . Hours 35-40 per week dependent on age, over 5 days, 8-5pm to include 1 weekend day per week.

All General yard duties to include :
- Mucking out/ sweeping
- Filling haynets / water buckets
- Poo picking/ paddock maintenance
- Turning in and out / putting on and off horsewalker
- Rugging up / picking out feet
- Grooming/ preparing for shows
- Tacking up, putting boots/ bandages on
- Riding possible for right candidate

Skills Required
Have good basic equine skills and be confident handling big, fit competition horses .
Qualifications Required
Level 4+ in GCSEs / Level 1+ in Functional Skills desirable but not essential.
Contact Haddon Training to discuss if not yet achieved - Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills Maths and English
Training
Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training
Personal Qualities
A positive attitude and high work ethic with a good sense of humour and desire to work as part of a team.
Prospects
Progression to Level 3 senior groom
Possibility of full time employment on completion of your apprenticeship
Other Information
There is no accommodation available with this position , it is accessible by bus from Leicester, please make sure you are able to get to and from the location daily before applying.
Livery for own horse possible.
