Opportunity Details

During your apprenticeship you will learn-

  • The principles of membrane waterproofing systems and how they are applied in routine tasks, such as, preparing surfaces, installing insulation, installing background materials, installing main roof coverings to include bitumen membranes, single ply and liquid applied systems, fixings, fittings and components, roof windows and lights
  • How to requisition membrane waterproofing materials, such as bitumen membranes, single-ply, liquid applied systems and related materials, fittings and components
  • The differences between and the characteristics of warm, cold and inverted (waterproofing layer as the base) roofs
  • Carry out a range of job tasks including measuring, marking out, fitting, finishing, positioning and securing

Qualifications Required

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience or a trade qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ)
  • A full UK driving license
  • CSCS card
  • GCSE or equivalent 4/C or above in Maths and English

Any relevant single ply membrane certificates would also be a great advantage.

Training

You will attend Exeter College in block weeks (1 week per month) to work towards your Roofing Level 2 apprenticeship.

Personal Qualities

A team leader and be able to confidently communicate with site agents and builders.

Prospects

This opportunity once qualified offers the security of a full-time PAYE position within an established, reputable company. We will provide you with your own company van as well as current health and safety and product/material training.
