Opportunity Details
They are looking for an enthusiastic worker who gets on well in a team. You will be handling young stock so must be competent handling horses. A fantastic opportunity for someone that shows an interest in breeding.
Aston Mullins is a beautiful
farm in a tranquil village in the Vale of Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. It has two businesses running side by site, a
Thoroughbred Stud and an Eventing Yard so there is masses of experience to
gain.
This is a great opportunity for a level 2/ 3 equine apprentice to get stuck in with the daily running of the stud, including, but not limited to;
- Mucking out
- Turning out/bringing in
- Tacking up and tack cleaning
- Feeding and filling hay nets
- Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
- Bathing and rug changing
- First aid
- Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
- Holding for vet/farrier/dentist

Skills Required
Previous experience working with horses is essential.
A reference will be required
Qualifications Required
GCSE Level 4/ Grade C in Maths and English, or a willingness to complete equivalent functional skills.
Training
Full training supported by Haddon Training Ltd
Personal Qualities
Must be hard working, keen to succeed in the equine industry.
A good sense of humour is a must!
Prospects
Possibility of a full-time position
Progression to the Level 3 Senior Groom Apprenticeship

Accommodation available if required
Candidates must be 18 or over for this position and ideally have their own car as location is rural.
