Overview: We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Web Developer to join our small but growing Web Services Team within an established IT Support company based in Telford. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a core team shaping a new department with long-term career prospects.

Location: Telford (with potential for flexible/remote working)Position: Full-time.Salary: £17,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Web Development: Assist in the development and maintenance of websites, ensuring they are functional, user-friendly, and visually appealing.
• Design Collaboration: Work closely with the design team to implement creative ideas and ensure the visual integrity of web projects.
• E-Commerce Solutions: Support the development and integration of e-commerce platforms, enhancing user experience and functionality.
• SEO Implementation: Assist in the implementation of SEO strategies to improve website visibility and search engine rankings.
• Content Management: Manage and update website content using various CMS platforms, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support for web-related issues, troubleshooting problems and implementing solutions.

What we are looking for: Desired skills / qualities: 

• A keen eye for design, contributing creative ideas to web projects. 
• Analytical and process-oriented thinker. 
• Basic understanding of coding principles. 
• Proactive and resourceful, able to research and solve problems independently. 
• Aware of current digital trends and user preferences. 
• Strong IT skills – self-described 'techies', gamers, and geeks are welcomed!

Desirable experience (non-essential):

• WordPress and other CMS platforms, as well as HTML/CSS coding
• E-Commerce platform experience (e.g., WooCommerce, Shopify)
• Familiarity with JavaScript and PHP / Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Anthropic, etc.
• Managing or creating content for social media business accounts

Entry requirements: 7 GCSE's total: 

• English GCSE grade D or above
• Other 6 GCSE's, including Maths, to be C or above
• You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject
