Are you passionate about working with children and looking for a fulfilling alternative to classroom teaching? LEarnActive is seeking a dedicated and nurturing individual to join our team, delivering high-quality PE sessions in schools and leading inclusive youth clubs for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role is perfect for someone who wants to make a real impact, helping every child, regardless of ability, to progress and thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and structured PE lessons in primary and secondary schools twice per week, promoting physical activity and skill development.
Plan and lead evening youth club sessions designed specifically for children with SEND, fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
Adapt activities to suit the individual needs of children, ensuring that all participants can engage and progress at their own pace.
Build positive relationships with children, families, schools, and other professionals to create a strong support network.
Learn and implement strategies to support children with SEND, working closely with experienced staff to develop best practices.
Maintain a high standard of safeguarding and wellbeing for all children, following company policies and procedures.
Contribute to the growth and development of LEarnActive by bringing enthusiasm, initiative, and a commitment to our mission.

What your apprenticeship includes:
A mixture of face to face and online catch ups every 4 - 6 weeks to discuss feedback and progress
A mixture of on and off the job training, including workshops and webinars
Reviews every 12 weeks with your Line Manager and apprenticeship trainer
The chance to get Functional Skills in English and maths (if you don't already have GCSE)

Skills Required
Looking for a full time staff member and looking to be competitive salary that would be an alternative to teaching.
Qualifications Required
Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/5 or above) A Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Teaching Assistant, Sports Coaching, Childcare, Youth Work, or Health & Social Care). Desirable Qualifications: Recognised sports coaching qualifications (e.g., FA Level 1 or 2, UK Coaching Certificates, or equivalent). SEND-specific training (e.g., Autism Awareness, Makaton, PECS, or Trauma-Informed Practice). Safeguarding & First Aid certification (or willingness to undertake training). Other Requirements: A full enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one). A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is NEEDED
Training
Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship L2 including Functional Skills in Maths and English

Willingness to learn. Punctual. Conscientious.

Other Information
Driving Licence and travel but we have added an additional amount per week to support this. Will require travelling to different venues. Work in some evenings.
