Landfill Operative
Salary – £12.21 per hour
Hours – 39 hours per week
Location – Winterton, DN15 9AP

As a Landfill Operative at FCC Environment, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of our landfill site. Your responsibilities will include supporting general site operations in line with the site permit and company policies, delivering excellent customer service, and upholding the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?
• Supporting site management in daily landfill operations
• Undertaking site administration duties as required
• Ensuring operations comply with the site permit and environmental requirements
• Carrying out health and safety checks and reporting near misses, incidents, and accidents
• Assisting with energy usage monitoring and leachate system management
• Providing a courteous and helpful service to customers and visitors
• Helping to ensure changes in policies and procedures are implemented effectively
• Participating in training and maintaining required competencies
• Promoting a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and customer service
• Working closely with colleagues, visitors, and management to maintain a productive and positive site environment

We are looking for someone who is:
• Honest, hardworking, and self-motivated
• Punctual and reliable with good communication skills
• Willing to learn and undergo training, including on-the-job instruction
• Adaptable and able to respond positively to change
• A team player who can also take initiative
• Responsible and performance-focused
• Able to collaborate effectively at all levels
• Experience in landfill operations and/or an Agricultural Tractor Driving Licence is a plus – but not essential, as training will be provided
