Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Manage and organise the People Team shared inbox, responding to queries and escalating where appropriate.
  • Coordinate onboarding, offboarding and TUPE administration processes, including compliance checks, issuing contracts and offer letters, welcome communications, and ensuring systems are accurately updated.
  • Maintain HR systems and employee records, ensuring data is accurate, up to date and compliant.
  • Support People Advisors in preparing and issuing formal correspondence, including change of terms letters, performance management letters and salary review letters.
  • Provide administrative support for recruitment activities, including vacancy management, interview coordination and candidate communications.
  • Assist with People Team projects, communications and presentations.
  • Plan and coordinate People and company events.
  • Assist the Office Manager with ordering office supplies and refreshments for training activities.
  • Update benefits platforms and payroll records with new starters, leavers and employee changes.
  • Raise invoices for site staff training costs for recharging purposes.
  • Take minutes in meetings as required.
  • Prepare and administer monthly payroll activities to support the accurate and timely processing of payroll.
  • Proactively manage recognition and awards through internal communications, including safety champions, employee of the month, appreciation days and long-service recognition.
  • Maintain People Team processes, guides and documentation, ensuring the HR Bible remains up to date and reflects any agreed process changes.


Experience:
Desirable:
  • Experience working with HR software
  • Studying towards CIPD qualification(s)
Essential:
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to check and verify their own work, or seek clarification where needed, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Experience in administration within a fast-paced environment, demonstrating the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Skills & Knowledge:
Desirable:
  • Basic Excel, including data entry, reporting and basic formulas
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint and/or Canva for creating visual content
Essential:
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to use AI and other digital tools appropriately to improve efficiency while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality and professional judgement.

Other Requirements:
• Must evidence the right to work in the UK
• Must be able to travel to their designated place of work

Training you'll get

Using their expert knowledge, we’ve purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace.

Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.

Future prospects

in the short term it is a Mat Cover role, but we do not want to rule out the possibility of the apprentice finding long term meaningful work in our HR team. We are a growing company and at this time next year its very possible he/she will be able to secure a permanent contract, but for now its mat cover.
