We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Accounts Assistant Apprentice to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in accountancy while gaining practical experience and working towards an AAT qualification.
As part of our client services team, you will support a varied portfolio of clients across a range of industries. Working alongside experienced accountants, you will assist with bookkeeping, VAT returns, and basic accounts preparation, helping clients maintain accurate financial records and meet statutory deadlines.

Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

Key Responsibilities
Processing and maintaining client bookkeeping records
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and management accounts
Reconciling bank, supplier, and customer accounts.
Communicating professionally with clients and colleagues
Supporting the wider team with administrative and accounting tasks as required.

About You
Keen to develop a career in accountancy and finance
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good organisational and time management skills
Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Good communication and interpersonal skills
A positive attitude and willingness to learn

Training you'll get

Full training 1 day per week at Exeter College studying the L3 Assistant Accountancy Apprenticeship.

Future prospects

This apprenticeship offers excellent long-term career opportunities within the firm and the wider accountancy profession. Upon successful completion of the AAT qualification, there may be opportunities to progress into a permanent Accounts Assistant or Trainee Accountant role, with further study support towards higher-level qualifications such as AAT Level 4. As your skills and experience develop, you will take on greater responsibility and build a rewarding career in accountancy and business advisory services.
