Civil Engineering Technician Apprenticeship

As a Civil Engineer apprentice, you will be placed on one ofour many UK construction sites and be involved in the different siteactivities, where you will be exposed to:
- Dimensional control of site works.
- Understanding engineering requirements of a project.
- Planning of site activities.
- Reading of site documents: Site drawings, specifications, standards.
- And many more!
Our civil engineering works cover a wide range ofengineering activities, such as tunnelling, rail projects, heavy civils,drainage works, bridge repair and replacements.
Working as an apprentice civil engineer at Murphy you willlearn how to be responsible for the daily control, management, andcoordination of construction activities on site to ensure projects aredelivered on time, on budget and to the required safety, environmental andquality standards. Yourresponsibilities will increase throughout the duration of the apprenticeshipprogramme as your skills and technical knowledge develop.
Where will I be based on the apprenticeship?
We are recruiting for this apprenticeship across various projects across the UKin Cumbria, London area and the West Midlands. Due to the remotelocations of some of our sites, applicants must be willing to travelas required.
Due to the nature of our work and size of oursites, we may require you to have a full clean UK driving licence.

Qualifications required
- GCSE Maths, English and a Science subject at grade A*- C / 4-9 (or equivalent)
- If you have also obtained a BTEC in Engineering/3 A Levels grade A*-C or a Level 3 qualification in Engineering, subject to a review from our training provider, we may start you on the higher Level 4 Civil Engineering apprenticeship
