This Trade Supplier Apprenticeship will give you hands-on experience across all areas of the business, including the trade counter, customer service, stock control, warehousing and sales.

What You'll Learn:

  • How to provide friendly and professional customer service at the trade counter, over the telephone and via email, assisting customers with product enquiries and advising on plumbing and heating products where appropriate.

  • How to prepare and process customer orders, process sales transactions and payments, and promote additional products and services where appropriate.

  • How to pick, pack and prepare goods for customer collection and delivery, assist with deliveries when required, and support the day-to-day running of the warehouse.

  • How to receive deliveries, check and store incoming stock, monitor stock levels and assist with stock control activities.

  • How to liaise with customers and suppliers, maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment, and work effectively as part of a team to ensure the branch runs efficiently.

Qualifications required

GCSE or equivalent Maths and English at grade 4/C or above.

Training you'll get

As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a nationally recognised Level 2 Trade Supplier Apprenticeship Standard via our training partner, Learning Skills Partnership. Your Apprenticeship typically takes 15 months to complete and is fully supported through work based learning, this means that all training is done at the workplace eliminating the need to attend college. The successful candidate will be allocated a tutor who will provide a mixture of interactive online group teaching and 1-1 training monthly.

Future prospects

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be the opportunity for a permanent position within the business.
