You will be studying a Level 3 information communication technician apprenticeship alongside working as an apprentice IT support engineer at Nexus. This means you will be part of our team who are the first point of contact for clients contacting the service desk. You will be assisting our clients by listening to their technical issues and providing assistance to get them working again quickly, efficiently and within their contracted service level agreement.

Day-to-day you will be answering the telephone, providing remote support, or engaging with clients face-to-face at their workplace. We will also provide the opportunity to gain vendor related certifications e.g. Microsoft, Dell, SonicWALL.

This role is based at our Exeter office. You will have the opportunity to work at client's sites.

Duties:

  • Taking details of support calls via phone and email and recording in our ticketing system

  • Laptop builds/ rebuilds

  • Password and/ or MFA resets

  • Share Mailbox access

  • Access to SharePoint sites

  • Adding printers

  • Resetting OneDrive sync

Demonstrate enthusiasm for technology

Basic understanding of computer hardware, software and networking principles

Analytical approach to problem solving

Be able to record and document your time and actions taken

Qualifications required

Maths and English GCSE C/4

An IT related qualification would be helpful but not essential (GCSE, A level, BTEC)

Training you'll get

Training on the job and also 1 day per week at Exeter College on the L3 Information Technician apprenticeship.

Future prospects

This apprenticeship may lead to becoming a Service Delivery Analyst, Service Delivery Technician, Project Engineer and beyond to consultancy level.
