As an IT Configuration Technician Apprentice, you will:

  • Working in collaboration with the Technical Services Coordinator to configure and test equipment to ensure software has been installed prior to being sent to the customer’s premises.

  • Working in conjunction with the Warehouse team to assist with identification and verification of product.

  • Carryout site builds by connecting to the client’s server.

  • Perform quality control checks/ system checks.

Skills required

Working knowledge in building PCs, physically adaptable and motivated to move IT equipment.

  • Exposure of Windows XP, Windows 10

  • Basic electronics knowledge

  • Understanding of basic networking principles

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • The flexibility and willingness to learn

Qualifications required

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent, including English Language and Maths.

Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:

  • Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and at a storage.

  • Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.

  • Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance.

  • Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.

  • Support the information systems needs for your business.
