Skills required

  • The successful candidate should have good IT skills, including a very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to produce accurate documents, use spreadsheets confidently, and organise data effectively.
  • Be comfortable using other digital systems, with the aptitude to learn new accounting software quickly.
  • The role requires strong numeracy, attention to detail, and the ability to analyse information accurately.
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate the core digital and organisational skills typically developed through further education, such as managing workloads, conducting basic research, presenting information clearly, and working to deadlines.

Qualifications required

  • GCSE's Maths & English 9-5
  • A-levels Grade A-C, Maths, Business, Accountancy, Economics, English
  • Degree in a non relevant subject desirable

Training you'll get

This Level 3 programme builds on the foundations for entrylevel talent to support growth within an Accountancy and Finance function.

Employees on this apprenticeship will ensure an Accountancyand Finance practice performs in the most effective way. It includes the AATLevel 3 Diploma in Accounting and provides the opportunity for them to supportthe business with essential skills and behaviours to drive results.

You will learn how to prepare financial statements for SoleTraders and Partnerships, the importance of management accounting information,and how to prepare VAT returns. You’ll develop the technical skills to start,or progress, your career in accountancy and this will allow you to continuewith your studies onto Level 4.

To pass this level you will need to study the following fourunits:

  • Financial Accounting; Preparing Financial Statements (FAPS).
  • Management Accounting Techniques (MATS).
  • Tax Processes for Business (TPFB).
  • Business Awareness (BUAW).
