You’ll work closely with the team, learning how to manage tasks, communicate professionally and use office systems while developing your organisational and customer service skills.

What you’ll do at work

  • Provide general administrative support to the team

  • Manage diaries, appointments and meeting arrangements

  • Prepare rooms and materials for meetings

  • Welcome visitors and assist with meeting arrangements

  • Attend meetings when required and take any necessary notes or actions

  • Help manage new enquiries and communicate with clients and external contacts

  • Respond to emails and telephone enquiries in a polite and professional manner

  • Update the company CRM with timesheets, enquiries and client details

  • Manage electronic files and correspondence

  • Use Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel

  • Handle personal and confidential information appropriately

  • Follow company processes and procedures

  • Help maintain office supplies and stock levels

  • Support general office housekeeping and keep shared areas organised

  • Assist with events and other administrative tasks when required

  • Work with the wider team and help with tasks across the office

  • Reorganise priorities and manage multiple tasks when required

Skills required

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel

  • Polite and professional telephone manner

  • Good organisational and time-management skills

  • Good attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness to learn and get involved

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities

  • Professional and respectful approach

  • Good command of written English

  • Confident using computers and office systems

Training

You will work towards a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship, developing practical skills in administration, communication, customer service, document management, business processes and office systems.

Future prospects

The successful apprentice will gain practical office administration experience and develop the skills needed to progress into a long-term administration or business support role.
