A Butcher Apprentice will learn how to:

• Prepare, trim, weigh and price up meat;

• Cut and bone a carcase;

• Package meat and store it correctly;

• They will be discussing different cuts with customers, including how to cook and safely store them;

• Always keeping their working environment safe and storing meat in accordance with health and safety legislation;

• Maintain business records and budgets.

On successful completion of the course, you could progress to the Level 3 Advanced Butcher apprenticeship. You could also achieve a permanent employment contract.
