We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and motivated Level 2 Hairdressing Apprentice to join our friendly and professional salon team in Solihull.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to start a rewarding career in the hairdressing industry. You will receive hands-on experience working in a professional salon while completing your Level 2 Hairdressing qualification with an approved training provider.

You will work alongside experienced stylists and gradually develop the practical skills, confidence and professional knowledge required to become a successful hairdresser.

Qualifications required

For a Level 2 Hairdressing Apprenticeship, you could include:

  • No previous hairdressing qualification or salon experience is essential.
  • A genuine interest in hairdressing, beauty, fashion and current hair trends.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A willingness to learn and develop practical hairdressing skills.
  • Good attention to detail and a professional approach to work.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely within a salon environment.
  • Reliable, punctual and committed to completing the apprenticeship.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths are desirable. Depending on the apprentice's existing qualifications, functional skills training may be required as part of the apprenticeship.
  • Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for an apprenticeship in England.
  • Previous customer-service experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Most importantly, candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm, creativity and a positive attitude towards learning.

    Following successful completion of the Level 2 Hairdressing Professional Apprenticeship, there may be opportunities to:

    • Progress to a Level 3 Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Apprenticeship.
    • Develop advanced skills in cutting, colouring, styling and hair treatments.
    • Progress from apprentice to Junior Stylist and eventually Senior Stylist.
    • Specialise in areas such as colouring, balayage, extensions, bridal hair or creative styling.
    • Continue professional development through additional courses and industry training.
    • Develop strong client relationships and build a personal client base.
    • Progress into salon management or supervisory roles with experience.
    • Eventually become self-employed, freelance or open and manage your own salon.
    • Build a rewarding career within the wider hair and beauty industry.
