The Role: This is a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Machinist Engineer seeking employment in an expanding and thriving company who are specialists in hydraulic and pneumatic solutions that were established as an organisation more than 40 years ago.
The company provide hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical services to customers across multiple sectors. The Apprentice Machinist Engineer will be an integral part of the Apprentice Machinist Engineering team who have support from the UK’s largest fluid power specialists. This will suit an individual wanting to hone and develop their skills within a fast paced, diverse environment. This role is multi-disciplined where you are required to provide Fluid Power repairs and overhauls across a wide range of applications and industries.
Scope:
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor & Engineering Manager, the scope is for an Apprentice Machinist, you will be required to carry out the manufacture and repair of customer orders and equipment and plant within our busy workshops. You will be learning to perform manufacturing builds, repairs and overhauls to a wide variety of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment & Components using CNC and manually operated lathes and milling machines, learning to read and interpret engineering drawings. Working as part of the Workshop & Engineering team the individual will need to have a willingness to learn the skills necessary for working in this environment, able to communicate effectively with colleagues and also have a friendly and approachable “can do” attitude to fit in with the rest of the team on site.
- You will be required to work collaboratively as part of a team and support timely delivery of items and solutions to our customers.
- Establish develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues.
- Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required in line with the level of responsibility of the post and in order to meet the changing needs of the organisation
- Be enthusiastic and adaptable as there may be occasional times when assistance with our Site services team will be required.
Key responsibilities:
- Promoting the company at all times when communicating with customers.
- Carry out manufacturing builds and repairs both in our Workshop and on site if required.
- Using CNC and manually operated lathes and milling machines, hand tools, grinders, power tools.
- To Build, Repair & Overhaul hydraulic and pneumatic Components, Actuators and Systems in the workshop.
